Small Group Bible Study Men's and Women's Ministry Senior Adults The Family Young Life Precious Little Ones Sports Much More
Small Group Bible Study is a great definition of the Sunday School Ministry of Fork Hill. Our Sunday School Classes are led by individuals who recognize the importance of God's guidance and leadership in daily living. Each Bible Study class provides an atmosphere that is very informal, warm and comfortable. Yet, most important is the approach to God's Word where we can discover wisdom and guidance for our daily lives. Also, on Sunday evenings, you will find an active Bible Study group for adults, youth and children along with choir for the preschoolers.
Men's and Women's Ministry are an active part of Fork Hill. Our men's group, also known as Brotherhood or Men's Ministry, and our women's group, also known as WMU or Women on Missions, meet monthly and involve themselves in special projects. Our monthly Family Night meetings include the RAs, GAs, Acteens, and Mission Friends which all emphasize missions involvement. We believe in missions and support all Southern Baptist Missionary causes.
Senior Adults are the backbone and visionary leaders of Fork Hill. Each month, the Senior Adults, also known as the Golden Age Group, meet for a time of devotion, fellowship, worship, and the sharing of a meal. Throughout the year, day trips, overnight trips, and "special emphasis" trips are enjoyed. Involvement within the Moriah Association is a vital link for strength and encouragement for our Senior Adult Group.
The Family is the most important factor to any community, town, city or nation. Our church family embraces the importance of the individual family unit. Once a year, a Family Day is enjoyed in order to bring all families together for an afternoon of recreation, food, interaction and fellowship. For seasonal events centered around holidays - New Year's Eve, Valentine's, Easter, Fall Festival (Halloween), Thanksgiving and Christmas - the Church Social and Recreation Committee provides activities conducive for fellowship and worship for the family unit in a Christian atmosphere.
Young life characterizes the heart of Fork Hill, our Preschool, Children and Youth programs encourage fun, excitement and meaningful times together through Bible Study, events, trips and special emphasis. Youth Week is enjoyed each March. Vaction Bible School (VBS) is conducted every summer.
Precious little ones are very important to the people of Fork Hill. During Sunday School, Discipleship Training and Sunday Worship Services, great effort is made to care for preschool children as well as giving parents an opportunity to be involved in groups of their own age and common interests.
Sports have become an active part of Fork Hill. Our basketball and softball teams give boys, girls, men and women an opportunity to experience genuine competition and recreation in an atmosphere where "winning" is not the most important feature.
There is much more to the life of Fork Hill Baptist Church. We pray that the previous information has allowed you to see inside our Church Family in order to understand that we are genuinely striving to extend to our community the love and acceptance that Christ has shown each of us. We realize our great need is for the reality of daily needs, challenges and struggles. We also realize our great need for the strength of others in our life. This defines who we are, and what we are about. We extend to you a very warm invitation to be a part of what God is doing in and through our lives. May God bless you and your family.
